JO POWELL MEMORIAL SHIELD FOR BEST COMMUNITY PUB

Jo was a great campaigner for real ale and traditional pubs in the Cleveland CAMRA Branch area.

As a lasting tribute to Jo, the Branch inaugurated this award in 2012 in his memory and is awarded annually to coincide with CAMRA Community Pubs Month in April.

Nominations for Best Community Pub are requested in the Cleveland Branch Area of the Campaign for Real Ale

The criteria for nominating a pub for this award are:

  • How the local community is involved
  • Friendly and welcoming staff and environment
  • Consistently good beer quality
  • And possibly pies that Jo always enjoyed with his pint.

  • The vote will take place at the Branch AGM on Saturday 3rd February 2018 at The Brewery Tap at Camerons Brewery, Hartlepool.

  • Before the vote takes place, nominators will be required in their own words to give a brief summary at the AGM as to why they have nominated their pub for this award.

  • The winner of this award will become the holder of the Jo Powell Memorial Shield for best Community Pub for one year.

  • Please send nominations to kath.ward0206@hotmail.com by Saturday 20th January 2017.
