Sat 17 November – PETE MORTON / Avril McCall & Dennis Firman

PETE MORTON is a dynamic and compelling performer and folk singer-songwriter with a wealth of great songs and an interesting take on world events and social injustice. His songs have been described as an unruly mix of humour, politics, love and social comment wrapping their way around the folk tradition and all delivered with feeling and warmth. Songs like ‘Another Train’ and ‘When we sing together’ have become folk club standards and his performances are a joy.

Which is why we have invited him back for his fourth gig at Toft House. “Not only impressive but a revelation” – The Guardian “A writer who manages to express everything, from the highly personal to the truly international” – R2 magazine AVRIL McCALL is predominantly from a folk/traditional background but with an ear for all genres of music. She is a lover of words and the sentiment of a song which she aspires to convey in her delivery. DENNIS FIRMAN is a blues player extraordinaire, being a member of two-piece band Easy Street. They team up tonight to combine both of their styles of music.
